Lordy, Lordy look who is One....well that does not work...how about Goodness Gracious look what I have done....please fix my face...L.Moore Aesthetics is ONE! OK I give up on the cute tag lines, but I really do want to say congratulations to a wonderful local business who is turning ONE today!!! Oh where to start, Laurie Moore is the owner of L.Moore Aesthetics here on Amelia Island. Laurie and I crossed paths when she was referred to me by a previous client to have portraits of her soon-to-be arriving daughter around the end of 2014! While we spoke on the phone and immediately hit it off, I did not get to meet Laurie and capture her portraits until February of 2015. As a mother to a beautiful baby girl and two Vizslas, and wife to her own entrepreneurial husband, we always had tons to talk about when we got together for our portrait sessions. At that time, Laurie was working in skin care, but for a larger company and not her own. Through the years, I had gotten to know Laurie as a an expert and wealth of knowledge for my own skincare. So of course, I was so excited when I learned that Laurie was thinking of going off on her own. I am one of those people that eat "change" for breakfast and also carry the "go big or go home" mentality, so I could not have been happier for Laurie when she made the plunge. I even signed up for treatments with her that I had never done before. If I spend money or time on myself, it usually has something to do with photography, so Laurie made everything easy and a real treat! I have fallen in love with some of her product lines as well. So that is how we evolved personally and professionally. I love that girl (in my best southern voice)!
So let's actually brag about Laurie for a moment.
She has been licensed in skin care for 10 years. She went into skincare after 15 years in marketing and special events. In the past year, she has received the "Aesthetician of the Year” award from Cosmedix . She is active in her local Woman's Networking Group, "Network of Women-NOW". She has given to several charities and participated in charitable events such as Divas Day Out. She says she is a "self-proclaimed dork" when it comes to skin care (yes I know I basically said self-proclaimed twice in that sentence, but I wanted to make it clear that "I" was not calling her a dork :)
To celebrate her 1st Anniversary, she is hosting an Anniversary Event Thursday, July 19 from 5-8 p.m at her office. She will be offering complimentary skincare consultations, special drawings for free products and services, and there will be hors d’oeuvres from the Happy Tomato Café. Further information on the event as well as hours, services and pricing can be found online at www.lmooreaesthetics.com.
