Did you make a New Year's Resolution? CNN reported that the #1 New Year's Resolution is to loose weight, but what about choosing a healthy lifestyle for our kids. Did you know that the number of obese children in the US has quadrupled in the last 30 years? Well Coach Dawn Williams the owner and coach of Fiziklyfitkidz is providing safe and effective physical activities to children locally. She started her business to provide children the opportunity to build confidence and faith in their abilites as they succeed physically. Dawn specializes in training and couching youth atheletes and has a resume filled with fitness creditails.
As noted on the Fiziklyfitkitz website, doctors and medial professionals recommend 1 hour of moderately physical activity daily for children. The skills and activity taught during one of Coach Dawn's sessions are intended to provide balanced physical conditioning in endurance, strength, speed, flexibility, and other basic factors of fitness. I have seen it first hand and these kids are moving! There are various activities and games available that make it fun for the kids, whether they are doing squats, playing a game where one team is knocking down cones and the other trying to keep them up, or jumping small hurdles, the kids were laughing and probably were not thinking about how much they were exercising.
Coach Dawn has several classes catering to multiple age groups and currently offers them through the City's Park and Recreation Department and other locations such as Centered on Yoga. The Fit Kidz classes at Centred on Yoga are amongst the most popular. These are offered Monday and Wednesday from 4-5pm for ages 5-10. Coach Dawn can also provide private lessons upon request. My son looks forward to strength training every week with Coach Dawn! Visit www.fiziklyfitkidz.com to learn more. Contact Coach Dawn at info@fiziklyfitkidz.com or 904-612-4172.
