Welcome 2017 with open arms and with your best foot "or face" forward. Not that everyone needs to set resolutions and change who they are, but why not start of FRESH, REVIVED, and with a great portrait showcasing just that. I am a firm believer that every professional needs a great business portrait, corporate headshot, character study portrait or whatever you wish to call it for the new year. It is wonderful for people to find a face to attach to a name, without having to go look at that lovely Facebook Profile photo that you chose. Trust me, if someone does not know you, that is where they are going these days and let's face it; sometimes that Facebook Profile photo is not always flattering, nor are those Snapchat filters that you put over it and often that profile picture is not even you...maybe it’s your idol or your children. When people want to look you up, especially professionally, give them something great to look at, something you are proud of, something that is flattering to you. Of course, you should use a professional portrait studio to do just that. Why you ask, here are a few great reasons why:
1) A professional studio should do a consultation with you to know personality and/or traits you are wanting to shine through with your portrait. Are you a lawyer and want the portrait to look firm but inviting? Are you a realtor on the beach and want to look casual and friendly? Are you a fitness trainer and want to look in great shape and helpful? These all change how the lighting, posing and attire should be addressed.
2) Are their physical traits that you want highlighted or ones you want more hidden? For example, if you have beautiful eyes that you want showcased, that is important. Maybe you are not fond of the length of your nose, the skin under your chin, the droopy eye. A professional will know how to photograph your portrait to "showcase" and "hide" where needed.
3) Selfies are huge now a days, but trust me, they do not let everyone look their best. Did you know that your camera phone actually distorts the image? Have you ever taken a selfie and noticed that your nose or forehead look huge or your face looks longer, yes that is all distortion? People that are looking to hire you, use you for a service, or want to put a face with the name want to see you, not some horrible selfie with the plastic look skin filter.
So, trust a professional to help you put your best "face" forward for 2017.
