In the fall of 2014, I was contacted by a lovely lady saying that she and her husband would be adopting soon and wanted to do an "Announcement Session" for that. I was so delighted to meet them and capture their adoption journey. It started with a beautiful fall session at Big Talbot State Park. I treated this just like I would a couple or maternity session, spending lots of time capture life as "just the two of them". We made sure we "announced" to all of their family and friends with a green sign added to a few of the portraits saying, "We Are Adopting". I was so lucky through the years that I was there to capture their journey with their son Ethan! I captured Ethan's newborn portraits, his 6 months, his 9 months, his one year, even his first and several year Santa Portraits, first and several year Easter Portraits. I was also amazingly blessed to capture Ethan's actual adoption at the Courthouse. As you can imagine, I love this family so much and love that they continued to choose me to capture all of these amazing milestones.
As you can imagine living in a military town, people come and go! And while I was so happy for the DeSalvo's to get orders to move "back home" to VA, I was equally saddened that a family that I had been capturing for over 3 years was moving! Of course we still kept in touch (mainly through Facebook and Instagram) so I get to continue to watch Ethan grow! I have to admit when I received a call from Catherine (Mom) just last month, I was excited to see her number pop up on my phone, but I definitely did not expect what was coming next! She told me that she and Richard were "Expecting" (adopting) again.....AND....they wanted me to capture their Announcement Again. (Mind you they are in VA and I am in FL). Now, I would love to think that they were coming to Florida for their session with me first and foremost; and THEN headed to Disney for a few days after...so I am going to say just that ;) Once again I get to say...... "Surprise...The DeSalvo's are Expecting Ethan's Baby Brother to arrive around the end of May" Congratulations to this beautiful family! I cannot wait to meet the next little DeSalvo!
