We live in such a beautiful area; from our beaches, to our beautiful oaks to our historic downtown, seriously you can not go wrong! Typically all sessions start out with someone calling our studio to ask about booking a session and what it entails. As part of my process, I always ask, "How did you hear about me?" as this is critical to my business. This call was no different and the client answered, "Your son"! Mind you, my son is in middle school and believe it or not he has actually gotten me a few clients so I was excited to learn more as I love referrals and I love it when it is from someone that truly knows me and what I offer and evidently he was quite the sales man and convinced his friend Sabrina that she need to get her family to do a portrait session with me....I love it and I will take it!
So after our brief phone conversation, Starla and the girls came into the studio for their consultation so we could customize and design a session just for them. During the consultation, it is so important that we talk about personalities, outfits, desires, where these portraits are going to hang in their home and of course where we were going to do these. They chose downtown Fernandina Beach, mainly because that is what Sabrina (teenager) had envisioned. I love when everyone is involved in the session. We discussed what areas downtown were key or important to capture and we rocked our session with multiple outfits and locations. This not only showcased this family, but our adorable downtown area with places that were specific to them. We started at the Courthouse Fountain, made it to the infamous brickwall at Lindy's Jewelry, popped across the street to The Decantery (yes we asked for permission to shoot in their window), did some center of the road Fernandina and ended with Fantastic Fudge over some ice cream. This was such a fun session...it makes me want to take my own family there to capture all of these places we have grown to love living here. I can not wait to see these beautiful portraits gracing their walls!
