A TRUE Vacation

You may have noticed that last week were closed and "uncontactable"!  Well that is because we were taking our FIRST TRUE FAMILY VACATION!!!!!  Seriously with an 8 year and 4 year old you would think we would have done it before, but this was our first real experience without staying with friends or family for a vacation.  We were on board the Disney Cruise Ship "Wonder" for 5 days porting in Grand Cayman and Cozumel!  The Cruise was absolutely wonderful and the service was even better...all in true Disney Fashion!

There was so much to do on the ship, we could not experience it all, but my daughter of course loved the princess experience.  She asked, "Mom, why does everyone keep calling me princess!" 

My son was "too cool" for the character experiences but loved the "Oceaneer Lab" and the Pools.

The food was great and so was the service. 

We did port in Grand Cayman, where we took a tour of the island!  We stopped at the Tortuga Rum cake factory, the Town of Hell (picture of iguana), and a few others. 

Hell is called that because of the black/dead coral reefs that are present there.  These reefs are inland now and exposed due to the sea level change over the years.  The island was so clean because if you were caught littering it was a $650 US Dollar fine!!!  (That is a thought!)  We were saddened to hear their #1 food was Sea Turtle :(

In Cozumel, we shopped, my daughter had her hair braided and then we had a great Excursion at Stingray Bay.  My son floored me at how good he could snorkel and my daughter was the expert stingray feeder in the family (These pictures were purchased electronically from Stingray Bay!) 

Back on the boat the fun did not stop, with a pirate party, awesome shows, classes for adults and kids...it was wonderful.  My son did pretty good with this "gooey" silhouette shot!

One of my favorite (non-family) images of the vacation was this completely round rainbow!  I promise this is not lens flare nor made in photoshop!!!!!  It was a perfectly round rainbow around the sun!  We saw it several time and everytime it took my breath away!!!

Eventually the vacation had to in...bright and early arriving back in Miami!

This was such a great vacation.  I am so blessed to be able to take my family on this vacation, I grew up a little less fortunate (financially) definately not family-wise and am so happy that our little family can do this together. 

BTW these pictures were just same fun family snapshots!
